"I think the healthcare professionals voice in the climate debate is critical. But we also have to acknowledge that the health sector...is also a contributor to the climate crisis by the plastics it produces, by the greenhouse gases, so if we're to be trusted and taken seriously, we have to put our own house in order.
And on the scientific and health side that also means not flying as much to meetings. Conferences that can be hybrid, that don't have thousands of people flying around the world.
I think we both need to use our voice but also we have to put our house in order. Greening of the health clinics around the world, turning what are currently contributing to the crisis into something that is helping to prevent , mitigate and adapt to it."
