Limited Nuclear War is an Oxymoron

Inspired by an article in the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, this video explores the very flawed concept of limited nuclear war and how any use of even a single tactical nuclear weapon would quickly escalate into all-out general nuclear war.

The Russian strategist, and former advisor to Presidents Yelsin and Putin, Sergei Karanganov proposed a limited nuclear strike against NATO to show that Russia is serious about fighting a nuclear war, thereby intimidating NATO into backing down from support of Ukraine and continuing sanctions. This is nothing but wishful thinking as NATO will certainly retaliate as no political leader, NATO or Russian, would want to appear weak by not retaliating, as that would be political suicide. Rather, they would escalate to try and intimidate the other side, which would then cause the other side to further escalate. In a matter of hours or days at the most, we would be in an all-out nuclear war.
