Genesis 29:1-14: Jacob arrives at the land of the eastern peoples and meets shepherds at a well. He learns that they are from Haran and asks about Laban, his mother's brother. Rachel, Laban's daughter, arrives with sheep, and Jacob helps her by rolling away the stone from the well.

Psalm 40:1-10: The psalmist praises God for delivering them from trouble and sets their feet upon a rock. They declare trust in God's goodness and faithfulness, delighting in doing His will. The psalmist reflects on God's wondrous deeds and proclaims His righteousness in the assembly.

Proverbs 16:29-30: These verses warn against individuals who plot evil and entice others to do wrong. They are described as those who wink maliciously, signaling their intent to deceive and harm others.

John 10:22-42: Jesus is in Jerusalem during the Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah) and is questioned by the Jews about whether He is the Messiah. Jesus asserts His unity with the Father, but the Jews attempt to stone Him for blasphemy. Jesus escapes their grasp and goes beyond the Jordan, where many believe in Him.
