We explored Devil's Den State Park in Winslow, Arkansas (30 minutes from Fayettville); we hiked the Devil's Den Trail and the Yellow Rock Trail. Located in the Ozark Mountains, this park is home to breathtaking scenery with its bluffs, caves, ravines, and crazy rock formations. The land here was turned into a park in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps. They built many structures here including a massive stone dam which forms an 8 acre lake. From 1858 - 1861 one of the park's trails was used by the Butterfield Stage Line, a stagecoach service that delivered mail from St. Louis and Memphis all the way to San Francisco. The stagecoach line came to an end with the start of the civil war. During the war however, confederate and union troops moved through this area for the Battle of Prairie Grove and the raid of Van Buren. This park has a lot of history to it, but today it's mainly known for its incredible hiking and biking trails, let's go check it out! We are hiking the Devil's Den Trail and the Yellow Rock Trail. The Yellow Rock Trail is the trail with the stunning views from the bluffs that we saw in the intro of the video.
