Why Trump Picked JD Vance for Vice President

I think the announcement of JD Vance as Trump's pick for Vice President in the aftermath of the failed assasination attempt is very strategic. Trump is not pro 2a, and has enacted some of the worst executive gun control strategies ever seen. JD Vance by contrast is a strong second amendment candidate, a strong first amendment candidate, and a strong freedom candidate. For those reasons Vance is the best balance to Donald Trump's questionable record on those issues.
