Matthew 4:1-25 describes two significant events in the life of Jesus: His temptation in the wilderness and the beginning of His public ministry.

The Temptation of Jesus (Matthew 4:1-11):

Jesus is led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
After fasting for forty days and forty nights, He becomes hungry.
The devil appears and presents three temptations to Jesus:
First Temptation: The devil urges Jesus to turn stones into bread to satisfy His hunger. Jesus responds by quoting Scripture, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God" (Deuteronomy 8:3).
Second Temptation: The devil takes Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple in Jerusalem and challenges Him to throw Himself down, quoting Scripture that angels will protect Him. Jesus replies, "You shall not tempt the Lord your God" (Deuteronomy 6:16).
Third Temptation: The devil shows Jesus all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, offering them to Jesus if He will worship him. Jesus firmly responds, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve'" (Deuteronomy 6:13).
After these temptations, the devil leaves, and angels come to minister to Jesus.
The Beginning of Jesus' Ministry (Matthew 4:12-25):

Upon hearing that John the Baptist has been imprisoned, Jesus withdraws to Galilee and moves to Capernaum.
This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah about the land of Zebulun and Naphtali seeing a great light.
Jesus begins to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
While walking by the Sea of Galilee, Jesus calls His first disciples: Simon Peter and his brother Andrew, followed by James and John, the sons of Zebedee. He calls them to follow Him and become "fishers of men."
Jesus travels throughout Galilee, teaching in synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sicknesses and diseases among the people.
His fame spreads throughout Syria, and people bring to Him all who are sick, afflicted with various diseases and pains, demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics, and He heals them.
Great multitudes follow Him from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.
This passage highlights Jesus' rejection of temptation and His commitment to His mission, as well as the early stages of His ministry, including calling His first disciples and performing miracles.#secret of faith and mercy in jesus christ.
