First Volunteer Blooms of the Season. Datura metel. 07/16/2024

Planted these once many years ago. Sometimes called "Angel Trumpets", on a bush-like plant, the blooms are similar to and sometimes confused with the "Moon Flower" vine of a different species. They have self-seeded from the prolific exploding prickly pods and returned on their own ever since. Large nocturnal moths love them. This is not an edible plant.
