The comedy rock duo Tenacious D, consisting of Jack Black and Kyle Gass, has canceled the remainder of their tour following Gass' controversial remarks about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

During a concert in Sydney, Gass was presented with a birthday cake and asked to make a wish by Black. Gass responded, "Don’t miss Trump next time," referencing the recent rally shooting that left the former president injured. The video quickly spread on social media.

"I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday. I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form," Black stated on Instagram. "After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding."

Gass also issued an apology on Instagram, admitting his line was "highly inappropriate, dangerous, and a terrible mistake." He emphasized that he does not condone violence and expressed deep regret for his lack of judgment.

Adding to the controversy, Australian federal senator Ralph Babet has called for Tenacious D to be deported from Australia. Babet issued a letter stating, “Tenacious D should be immediately removed from the country after wishing for the assassination of Donald Trump at their Sydney concert.” He continued, “I condemn in the strongest possible way the call to political violence by Tenacious D in Sydney on Sunday. To advocate and or wish for the assassination of a President is egregious, disgusting, filthy, evil, and not acceptable in any way, shape, or form. This was not a joke, he was deadly serious when he wished for the death of the President.”

The band had recently completed dates in the U.S. and Europe, with the “Spicy Meatball Tour” set to continue in Australia and New Zealand. Frontier Touring announced the postponement of their Newcastle concert and advised ticket holders to await further information. Details on refunds for the remaining dates are not yet available.

The hypocrisy here is astounding. If a right-wing figure had made a similar comment, the woke mob would have immediately canceled them, destroying their career without hesitation. It's satisfying to see the left, who are always so quick to cancel others for far less, finally being held accountable for their own actions. The double standard is glaring, and it's high time they faced the same scrutiny.

Making light of or finding entertainment in a tragic situation is never acceptable. It's not funny to mock a serious event where lives were at stake. The left needs to realize that their actions have consequences, and this situation with Tenacious D is a perfect example of that.
