The FBI identified the gunman as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. The gunman used his father's AR-style rifle to carry out the attack. Bomb-making materials were found inside of Crook's car at his home in Pennsylvania. His motive remains unclear at this time.
