What if you had a black hole in your pocket?

Imagine the strangest object in the universe right in your pocket: a black hole. Black holes are incredibly dense, with gravitational pulls so strong that not even light can escape. But what would happen if you had one in your pocket?

First, let’s talk about size. A black hole with the mass of Earth would be less than a centimeter in diameter. So, theoretically, you could fit it in your pocket. But as soon as you did, you would experience catastrophic consequences.

The black hole’s gravity would start pulling everything around it into its event horizon. Your pocket, your pants, and eventually your entire body would be stretched and compressed in a process called spaghettification. Everything would be sucked in, including the Earth itself, leading to its destruction.

In short, having a black hole in your pocket would be an absolute disaster, consuming everything in its vicinity. But since black holes are formed under very specific and extreme conditions, it’s safe to say you’ll never actually encounter one in your pocket.
