President Biden is asking Americans to lower the political temperature, after the attempted assassination of Former President Trump. The President addressed the nation from the White House on July 14. Trump is safe after being injured. But one audience member was killed, and two others seriously wounded. Trump is expected at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 15. He’s set to formally accept the party’s nomination for president this week.
Former President Trump says he plans to call for national unity in his Republican National Convention speech. Trump told the Washington Examiner he rewrote his speech after the assassination attempt to focus on unity.
The secret service says it’s fully prepared to make sure the Republican National Convention will be safe this week. The agency says it will not make any changes to its security plan, after the assassination attempt of former President Trump.
