Hitler's Berghof 134 b

This film shows the renovation of various buildings on the Obersalzberg in the early 1930’s which eventually became a high security area for the leaders of the Third Reich. We tour the SS Junker School, the Platterhof Hotel (since demolished by the German Government) and the Hotel zum Türken (closed forever). The camera then takes us inside Hitler’s home known as the Berghof and we see the dining hall and huge kitchen among other rooms. There are also scenes of the southern Reich Chancellery – yes, there IS another one, and the backdrop of the majestic Bavarian Alps.
You’ll see Hitler, Hess, Eva Braun, Hoffmann, Goebbels, Neville Chamberlain, Russia’s Molotov – Hitler’s niece Geli and we see beautiful actress Lydia Barova, mistress of Josef Goebbels. Throngs of people wait at the Berghof to see Hitler; there is an SS wedding; Mercedes limousines race along the all new autobahn; and we are able to actually watch the old battleship SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN open fire on Poland at the beginning of World War II.
