US Secret Service facing questions after Donald Trump survives assassination attempt BBC Americast

Donald Trump has returned to his home in New Jersey after he was injured in what the FBI are treating as an attempted assassination at a rally on Saturday.

Trump says he was shot in the ear, describing a "bullet ripping through skin".

The FBI has identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks - he was shot and killed by the Secret Service.

At a news conference, an FBl agent said it was "surprising" the attacker was able to open fire.
