Sarie is walking home but she's very nervous and scared. She can see fires approaching in the distance. She jumps when Beeswagter calls out to her from her house. He has brought her the last of Annah's old things. Annah has disappeared without a trace, like so many people nowadays. Beeswagter goes to save the cattle from the fire, whilst Wolkop and Verfkwas arrives at Sarie's house.
