House Spring

In the town of House Springs, named after House Spring, a business development project in about 1990 led to the destruction of the spring and it being routed underground.

It was replaced by a green, slimy pond of runoff.

A private group has worked to restore the spring to a more natural state.

Please note I do not own rights to the picture of the slimy pond, or the old spring prior to restoration, both of which I got off the website of the local county newspaper, "The Leader"

I knew the backstory of the spring and the pond, having grew up nearby, but had heard nothing of the restoration attempt. They have begun planting native plants to beautify the area
