Omar bin Hafs Al-Mahlabi, who fought battles in Sindh and the Maghreb during the reign of Abu Jaafar Al-Mansur. He is also one of the well-known and fierce Abbasid governors in Sindh and the Maghreb and one of the well-known brave Arabs from the Al-Mahleb family, known for their courage, leadership and generosity. He is the founder of the city of Tanbah and Al-Abbasiya in the Maghreb

Abu Jaafar Omar bin Hafs bin Othman bin Qubaysah bin Al-Muhallab bin Abi Sufra (the oppressor) bin Saraq bin Sahih bin Kinda bin Amr bin Wael bin Al-Harb bin Al-Atak bin Al-Asad bin Imran bin Amr (Ma’ Al-Sama’) bin Haritha bin Amr Al-Qais bin Tha’labah bin Mazen bin Al-Azd bin Al-Ghawf bin Nabt bin Malik bin Zaid bin Kahlan bin Saba bin Yashjub bin Ya’rub bin Qahtan Al-Azdi Al-Qahtani

When Omar bin Hafs Al-Mahlabi was governor in Sindh,he married in Sial family .Abu Jaafar Al-Mansur sent Omar bin Hafs as governor of the Maghreb. After receiving orders from al-Mansur, Umar bin Hafs went to Tubna, his second family members were disconnected from him.
