Obama, Pelosi privately expressed concerns over Biden

Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi have privately discussed their concerns about Joe Biden’s chances in the 2024 campaign, particularly against Donald Trump.

Both leaders are unsure about the best course of action as Democrats seek to end recent infighting and unite against the former president.

Many within the party believe Biden’s candidacy is in jeopardy and urge Obama or Pelosi to intervene, especially since Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer lacks Biden’s trust and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has insufficient connections.

Despite Pelosi’s conversations with Biden, she has indicated that his decision to remain in the race is not final.

Leading Democrats hope she can resolve the ongoing turmoil, potentially by advising Biden to withdraw. Obama’s silence over the past two weeks has left many feeling abandoned, although he recently defended Biden after a poor debate performance.

However, his skepticism about Biden’s reelection prospects is well-known in Washington, CNN has reported.
