Assassin's Creed Shadows: Woke Garbage Gets DESTROYED!

The first Assassin's Creed Shadows trailer made franchise history by becoming the most disliked trailer of all time. Now that we have seen the gameplay showcase, it’s getting absolutely annihilated by fans. Many feel it looks like just another mediocre game, revealing how lazy the developers were. If you enjoy the content I create, follow me on social media, join the community in my live streams, and consider supporting through Patreon or YouTube memberships.

I have previously covered Assassin's Creed Shadows, specifically the first trailer, which became the most disliked trailer for Assassin's Creed. It's sad to see, as I've loved Assassin's Creed in the past and have a lot of nostalgia for the franchise. However, the Ubisoft of today doesn’t seem to care about their customers and only creates products for themselves.

They recently showed off an extended gameplay walkthrough at Ubisoft Forward, which I streamed live. If you want to see my live reaction, the link is below, but it wasn’t positive. The more I watched, the more issues I found. First, it was a 13-minute gameplay walkthrough, with only two to three fights and a lot of walking. While walking segments are expected, this isn’t what people want to see. Background NPCs were just standing around doing nothing. Although it's a work in progress with a few months until release, they already have pre-orders up, including $130 editions. They think this title is worth it, but it doesn’t look amazing.

Consider Elden Ring, which many paid $70 for and were happy to buy additional DLC. In contrast, Assassin's Creed Shadows looks clunky and incomplete. The combat is slow, the graphics have pop-in issues, and textures are lacking. Ubisoft recently marketed Skull and Bones as a quadruple-A game, and I wonder if they will do the same with Shadows.

Another issue is the music choice. They put hip-hop music behind the combat, which doesn’t fit the game at all. It’s like Ubisoft is trying to be "hip with the kids," but they missed the mark. They don’t understand what Assassin's Creed is about. Historical accuracies are lacking, and while some don’t play for historical accuracy, many do, and previous games depicted real historical figures well.

Fans are annihilating this trailer. The Ubisoft YouTube upload has 44,000 likes and 61,000 dislikes. The PlayStation upload shows similar numbers, with 6.8k likes and 11,000 dislikes. Some defend the game, saying others are overreacting, and if you enjoy it, that’s great. But many are not impressed.

People have left comments like, "The part where he said it's DJ time and break danced them to oblivion had me in tears," and "Ain't no way they gave the black samurai a hip-hop combat beat." Fans expect Ubisoft to change things due to the backlash, and they might.

The game launches on November 15th, so there’s time for Ubisoft to market it more and potentially change things. I'll keep my eye on Assassin's Creed Shadows and see if any developers respond to the criticism.
