Woman tells her ex-boyfriend, "Killing me was the only way to see the kids again," so he killed her

In Arizona, a man named Gerardo Vazquez Alvarez killed his ex-girlfriend, M. Ramirez, and injured a teenager. Alvarez got 42 years in prison for second-degree murder and other crimes. Witnesses saw Alvarez shoot Ramirez while she hugged a co-worker. Another co-worker got hurt too.

The County Attorney, R. Mitchell, said the crime was cruel and affected the victims’ families, especially Ramirez’s kids. The murder seemed planned and heartless, causing trauma for everyone there. Ramirez feared Alvarez might harm the children.
