#388 - 20150108 - 1000_F+ Rocket Stove Record Temp!

Quick video of a record temp for the rocket stove I made. No major modification from the last two seasons. Only minor adjustments to the way I operate the stove. Placing just a few wood scraps in front of the fire basket helps to preheat the firebox, catch quickly and accelerate the pellet burn. I also made a metal rake that I jostle the embers with at the bottom of the fire basket every so often if I see it starting to collect ash. No more than once every 30 minutes or so. Keeping a small bed of ash along the bottom of the horizontal burn tube helps to keep the secondary burn going. I have also found that being able to adjust the fire basket placement front to back allows some adjustment of the air/fuel ratio and burn temp.
