Ferrari 296 GTB - DRIVEN! Ferrari’s Baby Pocket Rocket Drives as Good as It Looks

The Ferrari 296 GTB is something of a legend in the MotorTrend offices; the quickest rear-wheel-drive production car we have ever tested. The 296GTB is something of a line in the sand for Ferrari - after the V8 celebration that was the F8 Tributo, came this: a mid-engine twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor. The Halo SF90 may have two more cylinders, and three electric motors as opposed to the single one in this, but the 296 has a certain livability that makes It genuinely compelling. Also, the two are dead equal across a quarter mile - 9.6 seconds, but get this, the lighter 296 was traveling faster. I’m surprised Ferrari allowed those two to be that close!
