Russia's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman jokingly called US President Joe Biden "a pro-Russian candidate being controlled by the Kremlin". This was after Biden misspoke and introduced Ukraine's leader as "President Putin" before correcting himself. Biden’s gaffes at the NATO summit in Washington also featured prominently on news bulletins in Russia. TV channel Rossiya1 called Biden's mistake when he addressed the Ukrainian president as "President Putin" a “farce” and “theatre of absurd”.
