If you actually take a look at the thermometer data that has been collected by NOAA since 1895, we can see that the average per station percent of days per year that have reached or exceeded 95°F since 1895, we can see that that number is trending down over the last century.
Of the top 15 years with the most number of 95°F days, 13 of those years occurred before 1960, with the top 2 being 1936 and 1934 during the peak of the dust bowl years. In 3rd place comes 1954. Only one of the top 15 years has occurred in the last 40 years and that was back in 2011 which was an excruciating summer...

You're also gonna be seeing people claiming that heat is the number one weather related killer, but that's actually not true...Globally cold weather deaths killed 9.4 times as many people than did extreme heat over the period 2000 to 2019.

And if we look at the intensity of heat waves from the National Climate Assessment which the EPA uses this graph, we can see that heat wave intensity peaked during the 1930s. If you look at the number of heat waves, we can see that the frequency then has also decreased according to the 4th U.S. National Climate Assessment.
It increased until the 1930s and then it decreased significantly to the mid-1960s and since then the number of heat waves have increased slightly but they're nowhere near the historical maximum of the 1930s
