Loggias and windows,
Lighthouse in winter lagoon
Over gondola mist is dwelling,
In the distance cat eyes shining
Piers under water stick out noses,
Heavy wagons on wet streets making noises

Poets create and lay down verses
Shaping words and seeking muses
Chants and dances, It’s mystery time
Glorious Venice, how nicely it shines!

The chambers witness burned out flame,
Wax has fragmented like porcelain
And orchestra plays on and on,
To call all the masks to the ball
The long awaited company has come:
