The victim attempted to stop him, at which point William battered the victim and fled the area. During the investigation, deputies learned that William has a history of violent offenses that he has been convicted for.
The search for William was on.

K-9 Cpl. David Christmas was eating lunch when he noticed William walking down E. Silver Springs Blvd. When he approached to talk to William, he fled. K-9 Cpl. Christmas began searching for William when a citizen stopped to tell him which direction they saw William running in.

Ocala Police Department (OPD) officers began assisting and noticed him in the area of the 1600 block of Fort King Street. While searching that area, another citizen informed officers that they saw William running towards an abandoned home on SE 3rd Place.

When they arrived at the home, K-9 King sprung into action, following William’s scent and apprehending him hiding under a shed in the backyard. William was taken into custody and arrested for Battery and Resisting Arrest.
