WTF Happened to ERIC ROBERTS?

In the 1985 cult classic Runaway Train, Buck McGeehy is a ruggedly handsome man whose impulsivity is nearly his downfall. Though he stares death in the face, he ultimately declared “I don’t wanna die!” and was able to comfort another. “We gonna be alright. We gonna be fine.” Ultimately, it’s his risk-taking, determination, and defiance of convention that drew people to him and enabled him to be successful. Eric Roberts, who portrayed Buck in the film, nearly had his career and even his life derailed soon after the train left the station. A promising start steered him right into temptations that almost got the better of him, but his tenacity, tireless work ethic, and the support of others propelled him toward perseverance and helped him get back on track toward the most prolific acting career in Western Cinema.
