Bass And Bluegill Fishing in a Secret Lake

Fishing trip for Bass and Bluegill in a hidden lake only accessible by small boat or kayak. Ended up a successful trip catching some smaller bluegill and a few nice bass just for fun. I also rescued a small bird that was floating in the middle of the lake. This lake is one of my favorite places to spend a day - GONE FISHIN!

I am not a huge bass fisherman but will throw a bait when the opportunity presents itself. My go-to best baits for bass are a smallish purple soft plastics worm, a mid size rainbow trout colored tube jig or the occasional small crankbait.

For panfish I tend to throw a small 1" tube with light jig head tipped with worm. I prefer natural colors but red, yellow, chartreuse mixes work well too. I have been experimenting a lot more with different grubs and small baits for crappie and perch this year. It is easy to get set on a particular style/color of bait and miss out on other effective methods.
