ABOUT FRANCES PRESLEY RICE

Frances Presley Rice is a retired lawyer and U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel with 20 years of active service and several distinguished medals.

She holds a Juris Doctorate from the UC College of Law, San Francisco; a Master of Business Administration from Golden Gate University, San Francisco and a Bachelor of Science degree from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri.

She worked for the McDonald Douglas Corporation as a government contract advisor on the law of space exploration. She taught Business Law for the European Division of the University of Maryland, Belgium.

In addition to being an author, Francis is a screenwriter and an independent producer of documentaries about black history that feature African Americans who overcame incredible obstacles and achieved success against all odds.

She has been honored with several awards for her productions, including "Best Producer" in the Freedom Festival International for the epic three-part documentary BLACK SEEDS: THE HISTORY OF AFRICANS IN AMERICA. The documentary received an Honorable Mention in the Orlando International Film Festival. The film was also an official selection of the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival, the African Film Festival, and the Denton Black Film Festival.
