CHARGES/PENALTIES:
The State of New Mexico charged Alec Baldwin with involuntary manslaughter of Halyna Hutchens. In this context, involuntary manslaughter occur if a person is engaging in a lawful act but unintentionally kills someone by being negligent or not exercising due care. Involuntary manslaughter is classified as a fourth-degree felony with sentencing up to 18 months in prison and probation.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Opening Statements from the State followed by Opening Statements from Defense. Potentially, State will bring its first witness(es).

TRIAL LENGTH:
The Court informed potential jurors they should anticipate a trial in excess of one week.
