According to Health Canada:

- Advertising or promoting drugs using false, deceptive or misleading claims is prohibited in Canada.

- Pharmaceutical companies who promote their product by exaggerating their effectiveness, or by omitting or downplaying risks, can face criminal charges for illegal marketing practices.

The federal government launched back-to-back national advertising campaigns in the first half of 2021 to build trust in the COVID-19 vaccines despite the many unknowns. Ads appeared on TV, radio, in print media, buses, digital signs, web sites, social media and through search engine marketing. The ads sought to remind Canadians that if they wanted their freedoms back then they’d need to take the genetic mRNA C19 “vaxxines” [PHAC “Ripple Effect” advertising campaign].
