I grew up in a small Indiana town just on the outskirts of the Chicagoland area. I never really enjoyed reading as a child. It Wasn't until high school where I found a teacher who taught my mathematical brain a way to comprehend poetry. I started writing poetry quite often, usually giving it to the person it was written to. After I left high school I all but stopped writing and started learning an instrument. It wasn't until a few months ago that my friend was complaining about the material in many children's books now and how so few actually teach a child to go observe the world around them. A few hours later I sent him a poem and he said he would help me get it published so he could buy one. Nine days later, and a few less hairs learning the ropes, and my first book was published. A few months later and I am currently working on my sixth book. I really enjoy writing poetry again, especially when it teaches children to look at the world around them in wonder.
