Prime Minister Justin Trudeau heads to Washington for a NATO meeting, where allies are anticipated to privately criticize Canada for not meeting NATO’s defence spending target of two percent of GDP.

While Canada plans to increase military spending, it currently falls short at 1.76 percent.

Former ambassador Kerry Buck suggests Canada may face pressure unless a clear plan is presented, the CBC has reported.
