More than anything else, Losing My Religion is a Personal Confession from REM's Vocalist and Lyricist, Michael Stipe...

Michael's Religion is the TRUTH, and he takes it very siriusly, and to that end, having to obfuscate the Truth, Layer it, or even Deeply Encode within Biblical Parables, is difficult for him to do, Morally, as the Truth should be Open and Free!

However, we don't Live in Anything that resembles a perfect World, we Live in a SH$T SHOW, where Lies rule that Day, and to speak only the Truth, means that you, as an Artists would be Laughed off into Oblivion, allowing virtually no one to come to Know your Art, and your Message!

Thus, Artists, since Antiquity, have had to ENCODE the Truth inside of Allegories, Parables, Metaphors and Similes, where the HEART OF THE TRUTH, exists, but not in PLAIN VIEW to all those that are ASLEEP on their Feet, that are not Trying to Find the Truth, and Believe whatever they are told...

And it there Heartfelt Hope that at some point in the Future, as Mankind begins to Awaken, then there will be those of us who are Ready, Willing and ABEL to DECODE these ENCODED Messages, and begin to share them to the Masses, so that the Heart and Soul of their Message in Finally Heard and Innerstood...

Thus, in the Song, when Michael sings the Lines 'Oh No, I've said too much, I Haven't said Enough'...this is his ENDLESS Worry that he and MANY OTHERS carry with them...have they Revealed too much to us, too soon, or are they NOT revealing near enough of the Truth to us, at all???

Just KNOW my Friends, that ALL Artists CARE that the Messages that they are ENCODING within their Art is Finally INNERSTOOD and APPRECIATED for what it is Truly SAYING to us...

So, as Michael Stipe and REM continued to sell Millions of Records, and gather More and More Fame, what they were truly concerned with was whether or not their MESSAGES OF TRUTH were getting thru to us, so that we could interpret and then SHARE...and this is why Michael sang, 'I'm Losing My Religion', and he felt his Messages of Truth were simply NOT getting thru...
