The book of Amos is about God's judgment on the neighboring nations, Judah, and Israel for their sins and disobedience. God uses the humble and meek to shame the proud and exalted. Each group is held accountable based on what they should have known. The judgment is not only for breaking the Levitical law but also for neglecting the needs of the poor and mistreating others. The church today can learn from the mistakes of the past and be careful not to repeat them. We must have pure hearts, repent of our sins, and be humble before God and others.
