PARIS — After the shock of French President Emmanuel Macron's choice to call snap races last month, one more amazement came for French citizens as surveys shut Sunday night: the extreme right Public Party (RN) didn't get most of the parliamentary seats surveyors had anticipated. It didn't come close.

With elector turnout at its most noteworthy rate in over 40 years, starting evaluations proposed most of the seats would go to the New Famous Front (NFP), a left-wing alliance that immediately joined together only days after Macron reported that regulative races would happen.
