LIGHTNING HUTCH (1925)--Tinted
LIGHTNING HUTCH was the last serial made by Charles Hutchison. He was an American film actor, director, and screenwriter. He appeared in more than 40 films from 1914 to 1944. Hutch also directed 33 films between 1915 and 1938. Although he directed independent silent features, he is best remembered today as Pathé's leading male serial star from 1918 to 1922. In 1923 he went to Britain and made two films "Hutch Stirs 'em Up" and "Hurricane Hutch in Many Adventures for the Ideal Film Company. He made this one last serial in 1926, for distribution by the Arrow Film Corporation. In it, a scientist invents a poison gas; the villain and his gang will do anything to get the formula; "Lightning Hutch", is sent to save the scientist, the scientist's beautiful daughter, and the formula.
