What To Do If You're Losing Mobility Range,,,

Modify and Adapt

These are Zercher Squats and while not a perfect demo (elbows need to be tighter to allow for more depth) they have been a staple in my leg day routines recently.

My wrist and shoulder mobility has decreased in the last couple of months courtesy of competitive cuddling and it’s been limiting some bar loaded movements like front and back squats.

While I work on opening shoulder range without pain and strengthening my wrists the Zercher has been a great alternate in my squat routine.

It’s predominately a lower body movement but does a killer job activating the spinal erectors, core and biceps.

And it’s a pretty great forearm massaging tool… it might be the perfect squat for BJJ.

If you’re working through an injury the goal should always be to modify and adapt (of course allow ample time to recover) don’t let limits in one area limit progress in all areas.

Give them a try and let me know what you think.
