Thousands of Israelis have once again rallied in Tel Aviv and several other cities across the occupied territories to call for the resignation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The demonstrators decried Netanyahu’s failure to secure the release of some 120 Israeli captives held by the Palestinian resistance fighters in Gaza. They demanded that the Israeli cabinet strike a deal with Hamas movement to return them. The protesters also demanded snap elections. Demonstrators said Saturday’s rally will kick off a week of protests against the regime’s cabinet starting on Sunday, July 7, which marks nine months since the Israeli genocide started in Gaza. Calls have been growing for Netanyahu to step down over the regime’s prolonged onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip. Netanyahu is also embroiled in corruption charges that include bribery, fraud, and breach of trust. Protesters argue that he is seeking to prolong the war in order to evade his trials.
