ACCIDENT SNARLS TRAFFIC ON KICKAPOO BRIDGE, ONALASKA TEXAS, 07/06/24...

Kickapoo Bridge Accident Snarls Traffic, ONALASKA, July 6, 2024 - At approximately 1:50 pm on July 6, 2024, the driver of a late model black Ford F-150 was east-bound on US-190 West (little bridge Onalaska). About in the middle of the Bridge, the driver of a west-bound reddish orange 2003 Chevy Avalance was apparently distracted and drifted across the center line and grazed the Ford (nearly a direct head on collision). Both vehicles stopped on the pavement about 150 yards apart. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Onalaska Volunteer Fire Department, and Trooper Damon Zarate with The Texas Highway Patrol. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries. Traffic was regulated to one lane of traffic allowing east-bound and west-bound traffic to take turns. The driver of the Chevy is likely facing a citation for failure to maintain a single lane of traffic. Larry's Towing out of Onalaska was summoned to clean up the mess and was assisted by Ken's Towing.
