The Incomplete Skeptic & Sober Wise Guy Podcast Overview

Truth without compassion is cruelty. There is beauty in being brutally honest with oneself, but remembering who we are or were before all the stuff that happened to us is the beauty part. Compassion in the face of inconvenience is critical to raising strong people. One of the biggest problems in our world is those who, to convenience themselves, are willing to inconvenience others. Replacing love with TOUGH is strange to me. Tough Love is fine, for it's akin to detaching with love. But it is cowardly to 'detach' as an endgame program. Sure, we detach to survive sometimes, but then we remember that we are to love no matter what. Love is never wrong, but what we do in the name of love can be pretty messed up.

So, the above is a hint of what I want for The Incomplete Skeptic. To question paradigms and explore marginalized perspectives, no matter how far out of the park they seem to be to the average person. Whatever 'average' is, I don't know for sure. Normal is a setting on a dryer.

The Sober Wise Guy Podcast is about interviewing people in long-term recovery from Alcoholism or drug addiction, generally clean or sober for 30 years or more.
