Hotez: Bad actors with nefarious intent were weaponizing any little weakness they could find

Dr. Peter Hotez: "With my finding 200,000 Americans needlessly died and I actually point fingers at specific individuals, elected members of the senate and house and identify the role of Fox News...But what you're seeing now is this kind of revisionist history being taking place, this lack of accountability...What you're seeing now is this big effort to revise history and it's taking 3 forms:
1. You're seeing some of this play out in the House Covid Subcommittee hearings which is run by the GOP. They're trying to say: "No, is the vaccines that killed Americans, not Covid-19, which is absolute nonsense.
2. They want to blame the scientists for making the Covid virus which is also absolute nonsense.
3. To make the statements that the reason this screwed up is because the CDC and all the public health people miscommunicated and so they lost the trust of Americans. There were flaws...but that was a small piece of it. What the real piece of it was, the weaponization of health communications by bad actors who are politically motivated...The real reason was the bad actors with nefarious intent were weaponizing any little weakness they could find..."
