What makes us an American is a very simple idea, that we are all equal before God, that we have the rights of Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness... and that our rights are derived from God & Nature, not from Men and Government.

In this video, I will read the Declaration of Independence, and discuss the parallels between 1776 and modern America. The first half of the video (reading the Declaration of Independence) might be a little boring, but it is an essential document to understanding who we are, where we come from, and why we choose to be Americans.
