Acts - Chapter 21 Summary:

Acts chapter 21 details Paul’s journey to Jerusalem, his warm reception by the believers there, and his subsequent arrest. Paul and his companions travel by sea, making several stops, including Tyre, where the disciples, through the Spirit, urge Paul not to go to Jerusalem. Despite their warnings, Paul is determined to continue. They reach Caesarea and stay with Philip the evangelist, where the prophet Agabus dramatically predicts Paul’s arrest by binding his own hands and feet with Paul’s belt. Paul remains resolute, stating his willingness to be bound and even to die for the name of the Lord Jesus. Upon arriving in Jerusalem, Paul is welcomed by the brethren and reports in detail what God has done among the Gentiles through his ministry. To appease concerns among Jewish believers about his teachings, Paul agrees to participate in a purification ritual at the temple. However, some Jews from Asia stir up the crowd against him, accusing him of teaching against the Jewish law and defiling the temple by bringing Gentiles into it. A riot ensues, and Paul is seized and beaten until Roman soldiers intervene and take him into custody. As Paul is being led away, he asks for and is granted permission to address the hostile crowd.
