This segment of Time 4 Hemp was filmed in Washington DC, 1991. Casper Leitch was a guest speaker a the National NORML Conference that year and he had the chance to interview Dennis Peron, the Fathers Of The Medical Marijuana Movement.

Dennis Peron, a prominent San Francisco activist, shares his personal experiences and the significant impact of his political efforts on the city's marijuana laws. Peron initiated Proposition W in 1977, which outright legalized marijuana cultivation, sale, and possession in San Francisco, despite it being contrary to state and federal laws.

He collected 16,000 signatures to put the initiative on the ballot, marking an era of change for San Francisco's marijuana laws. Peron also recounts his advocacy for medical marijuana during the city's AIDS crisis, leading to the creation of Proposition P in 1991.

Despite facing challenges and setbacks, Peron's efforts resulted in significant victories for the marijuana legalization movement in San Francisco, with Proposition P receiving overwhelming support and de-facto legalization for medical marijuana.

Peron's goal is to take the initiative to other cities and invites listeners to join the fight to legalize marijuana for medical purposes.
