Russia takes out Abrams tank in single shot

Russian forces have reportedly destroyed another US-supplied Ukrainian-operated Abrams main battle tank in Donbass, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The tank was hit by laser-guided artillery near the city of Avdeevka, in the Donetsk People’s Republic

The reputation of the Abrams for its heavy armor had not reached ‘Yorzyk’, who guided the strike. Nor, indeed, had it reached the Abrams itself. The 152mm Msta-S self-propelled artillery shell did, however, after being fired from the venerable Krasnopol laser-guided artillery system. Footage released by the ministry showed the vehicle being obliterated, filmed from multiple aerial perspectives.

According to Western media, despite being sent 31 M1A1 Abrams tanks by the Pentagon, Kiev has had to limit their use on the battlefield, due to the threat from Russian drones and artillery, with at least five tanks confirmed lost as of April.
