Every Fourth of July all over the United States, small towns will blow huge budgets on extravagant fireworks displays. But what causes these awesome displays to have such extravagant color? Where do the colors come from? Minerals, of course! Gems, crystals, and minerals are directly responsible for the awesome colors you see in a fireworks display! Granted they are heavily processed into salts and other things, but each one has a purpose. But here's the thing, if something can't be grown it has to be mined. And mining products make up the vast majority of what goes into the awesome colorful lights you'll be seeing this coming Independence Day weekend! Anyway, be safe and have a great Fourth of July to those you in the States. And to those of you not in the States, well, fireworks transcend culture!
