RSV virus warning and relief medication - extreme scratchy throat and dry cough

The Respiratory Syncytial Virus caused unbearable scratchy/itching throat for 2 weeks so I had to use Dextromethorphan cough suppressant to be able to get relief and sleep at night. Then the virus caused thick lung secretions for several months - this time I did cough to expectorate
Note: the Dextromethorphan medication will stop the scratchy throat feeling (the worst part)
