Quick & Delicious】Beef & Lotus Root w/Honey Soy Sauce
This easy and quick recipe combines tender beef with crunchy lotus root, all coated in a sweet and savory honey soy sauce.
Ingredients:
• 200g beef belly (or your preferred cut)
• 200g lotus root
• Salt and pepper
• 1.5 to 2 tablespoons oil
Instructions:
1. Slice the lotus root into 1 cm/0.4 inch thick, or halve if you cut it too thick. Soak in water for 2-3 minutes, then drain.
2. Season the beef with salt and pepper.
3. Arrange the beef and lotus root in a frying pan. Drizzle oil over the lotus root.
4. Cook over low to medium heat until the beef is browned, then flip to cook the other side.
5. Once the beef is cooked, remove excess oil with a paper towel.
6. Mix the sauce ingredients and pour them into the pan, coating the beef and lotus root.
7. Temporarily remove the beef and continue cooking the lotus root until golden brown.
8. Serve on a plate and garnish with herbs or extra black pepper.
