“My name is Randy Isum. I am a visual artist from Long Beach, CA. Using different materials and mediums, I create one-of-a-kind works of art. My work touches on a wide range of emotions, and to the observer are engaging and thought provoking. I draw from over 40+ years of life experience and the many stories I have logged. Knowledge of self, and who we all are as a species, drives me to create. I came back from death in 2018 with a clarity on the human conditions that is absolute. The origin of the species, whatever you believe in, religion, faith, or spirituality, the facts are that all humans come from one place; the woman. I focus on this in most of my work. As a society we have sexualized the image of a woman to the point where that tends to be all we see when looking at her body. My perspective of women is that she is the true gateway to human life on the planet. My intention is to change that with the time I have left here. When looking for the human connection to creation, we have come up with so many stories to explain who we are, but the facts and the answer are right down here on earth. Human life begins in the woman. She is God, she is the reason.”
