Russian Defence Forces targeted Ukrainian air bases ahead of United States’ promise to send F-16 fighter jets to aide Zelensky in the war against Putin.
Russian drones and missiles targeted Starokostiantyniv air base on 27 June, successfully fended off by Ukrainian air defence.
On July 2, Russia attacked Myrhorod Airfield in Poltava region and destroyed five Ukrainian Su-27 Jets.
Several Ukrainian air fields were targeted by Russian fighter jets to damage the infrastructure and storage facilities.
